Hitting Lessons

Hittings lessons are different from a private lessons , in private lessons : players will be more focused working on technique, and coaches are going to be giving extensive information on technique improvement. The hitting lesson is not about improving technique, it is about learning to work with what you already have. In a drill situation, because the ball is being fed, players have more time to react to the ball, as they are fully concentrated on the technique rather than being focused on a rally and having to use the technique. The hitting lesson program was developed in order to directly improve your rallies through repetition, and for people who are looking for someone to hit with.

The main reason people participate in a hitting lesson is because they want to work on integrating the techniques they can execute in drills into rallies.

The types of players who use a hitting lesson:

Recreational

Many people are interested in playing tennis just for fun, with no desire to have a competitive aspect to the game. A hitting lesson can be geared for this type of player, as the player makes the decision as to how the lesson will be done. Instructors may offer the player different options of rallies or games for the player to have fun with.

If you are a beginner, we recommend that you do not do hitting lessons, until you’ve had a couple of private lessons, to give you the fundamentals for the tennis stroke.

Competitive

A competitive hitting lesson is going to be focused around developing the players tactical and strategic skills. The main reason competitive players participate in a hitting lesson is because they want to work on integrating the techniques they can execute in drills into rallies.
